Destination Caldwell is a 501(c ) (3) organization that creates high-impact projects which leverages our rich agricultural heritage and vibrant community spirit to build a prosperous future for Caldwell.

With the help of business and civic leaders, we’re making our community an even more desirable place to live, do business and visit.

Destination Caldwell was formed in 2013 by a grassroots team of local citizens, downtown property owners, and business leaders seeking to create better opportunities to live, work and play. In 2018, the organization was able to hire staff to continue this work on a daily basic.

Since our founding, Destination Caldwell projects have attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors and generated millions of dollars in economic impact.

Here’s how we’re working to preserve Caldwell’s Heritage and create a brighter economic future for our community:

Understand Our Impact

Agriculture Initiative

  • Protecting Caldwell’s land and agriculture along with farm-forward legislation at all levels
  • Developing agritourism to support local farms, produce stands and orchards
  • Attracting visitors to the Sunnyslope Wine Trail and AgVenture Trail

Downtown Evolution

  • Recruiting a business mix that supports Caldwell’s farm to fork focus of market-fresh goods
  • Supporting mixed-use development proposals including a hotel, downtown living, retail, and office space
  • Facilitating downtown beautification: façade improvements, clean team, seasonal decorations, and local art
  • Facilitate the downtown Caldwell Business Improvement District

Business Support

  • Assisting potential businesses in gathering information and marketing analysis
  • Helping businesses understand and navigate both city and county ordinances
  • Promoting ‘farm to fork’ and ‘farm to cork’ dining with a focus in local ingredients and wine sourcing

Building Community

  • Hosting 250+ activities and events per year at Indian Creek Plaza
  • Encouraging the community to invest in itself through volunteerism
  • Marketing Caldwell and nearby experiences as a destination for locals and visitors alike
  • Supporting other community non-profits and groups in our community

Our Vision For Caldwell

When our organization was founded a team of community volunteers worked with downtown development expert Roger Brooks to develop a brand and action plan that we are still executing today. Our vision to position Caldwell as Idaho’s premier gathering place with a focus on locally produced wines throughout the Sunnyslope region, market-fresh goods, and farm to fork dining has come to fruition. Now, we must work to protect our brand by continuing to preserve and expand on our progress.

The Downtown Caldwell BID provides partial funding for the operations of Indian Creek Plaza, including, but not limited to, management and staffing, scheduling, marketing, beautification and programming of year-round events at the Plaza.
